What to Buy if a Recession Hits

Last week was a quiet week ahead of this week’s busy and consequential calendar. On Tuesday, we have the monthly inflation report, and while leading indicators suggest a drop, there are many variables inside the report that are hard to forecast monthly. The US inflation report will certainly have an impact on Wednesday’s FOMC rate decision and just as important, forward guidance as it relates to interest rates. In this week’s market update, we will review factors influencing the monthly inflation report, give updates on the U.S. labor market, and analyze some of the asset allocation implications of a narrow stock market and what we think it means for your portfolio.
